I value self-care. I see myself as a growth-oriented individual, who is continuing to blossom each day. I am currently in the process of obtaining my doctorate degree in psychology. As I live up to my full potential, I want to help you live up to yours as well.

Psychotherapist
Tara George
Hello and welcome! I’m Tara George, a Master's level therapist with a passion for helping individuals heal from trauma, grief, and loss. With a background in Psychology and English from Muhlenberg College and a Master’s in Psychology from Boston University, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting those navigating some of life’s most challenging experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, body image concerns, and complex relationship dynamics.

For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with survivors of sexual abuse, assault, incest, domestic violence, and those affected by the loss of a loved one to homicide or suicide. My journey has also led me to support veterans and law enforcement professionals, both locally and abroad, in Vietnam and Thailand, where I deepened my understanding of trauma and its long-lasting effects.

My experience spans a wide range of settings, including hospitals, police departments, courts, and a domestic violence safe house. I’ve also spent the last six years working in hospice care as a grief counselor and bereavement coordinator, helping individuals and families cope with profound loss.

I approach therapy from a trauma-informed perspective, prioritizing empowerment and collaboration. My therapeutic style blends techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and the foundational principle of Unconditional Positive Regard. I am deeply committed to creating a compassionate, inclusive, and culturally sensitive space where you can feel safe to explore your emotions and experiences.

Above all, I believe in the incredible resilience of the human spirit. It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients, supporting them through their most vulnerable moments and empowering them to embrace their own path to healing.
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
